The Arabelle Center for Education was born from the heart and mind of Robin Hedspeth, with the financial and moral support of her husband, Kevin Hedspeth. With a passion for teaching students, opening this center is absolutely a dream come true. It is an answer to prayer. The Center is named for Robin's paternal great grandmother, Arabella Creighton Carter, who was a one-room school teacher in the Hickory Grove community in Charlotte, NC. It is our hope that "The Center" will be a blessing to the Rockwell community and to Rowan County students.
Robin is a 1989 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds a BA degree in Middle School Education with a concentration in Math and Science. She is licensed by the State of North Carolina to teach Middle School students Math and Science and High School students Math. Her Professional Educator's License is Highly Qualified based on coursework at UNCCharlotte for Middle School and Highly Qualified based on NC licensing test for High School. She taught Middle School for 4 years before becoming a full time "at home mom". She has spent the last 20+ years supporting the teachers and students in Rowan County by volunteering in various ways.
